    For the fifth year in a row, our students participated at the ISTELive21 (International Society for Technology Educators) Conference and shared their interactive projects with educators from all around the globe. The theme of their presentation was "Using Coding to Create Interactive Projects in Virtual and Mixed Realities".

  • Mrs. Bick is a Finalist for a Prestigious Award

    Congratulations to Dawn Bick, K-5 Science teacher, for being selected as a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). The PAEMST award is the highest honor bestowed on K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) teachers by the U.S. Government. The top 100 PAEMST award winners will be announced this summer. We are so proud of Mrs. Bick and the amazing impact she has on our students and STEM program at HHAI!

  • We're Coming Back Stronger!

    The Hasten Hebrew Academy is proud to be coming back stronger from COVID-19, thanks to a generous grant from Early Learning Indiana and Lilly Endowment! Our grant will help us diversify our learning environments and increase safety standards to safely serve our children, families and staff and help Indianapolis come back stronger!

  • Grade 2 Chumash Celebration

    Mazel Tov to our second graders upon the exciting milestone of receiving their first Chumashim, entering the foray of Biblical textual skills. Rabbi and Miriam Gluck surpassed their unique creativity standards in this their twelfth Chumash play themed as an escape room experience to unlock the content of each of the Five Boooks of the Torah with clever clues as well as grammatical and numeric Hebrew nuances with beautiful scenery, music, choreography and spectacular visual effects!

  • HHAI Students Presented at ISTE 2019 in Philadelphia, PA.

    For the third year in a row, HHAI students were invited to showcase their work at the world-largest EdTech conference - International Society for Technology in Education. Our students were proud to represent our school, community, city, and state on such a large stage!

  • Rabbi Gluck is the Recipient of JFGI Prestigious Award

    We are proud to announce that HHAI Judaics teacher Rabbi Tzuriel Gluck was a recipient of the 2019 Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education at the JFGI annual meeting on June 5th. Rabbi Gluck was selected from a pool of qualified nominees of local Jewish educators for his excellence in innovative ways of bringing Torah to life through the use of a variety of resources and teaching modalities to enrich his lessons.

  • Congratulations, Yael!

    HHAI student Yael Epstein was awarded the national prize for her winning essay in the Level 2 of Letters About Literature competition! Yael's letter to Ayaan Hirsi Ali of “Infidel” was distinguished among the approximately 30,000 letters received and will be published on the website of the Center For the Book in the Library of Congress. The school community is richly proud of Yael on this significant writing achievement

  • Remembering the Holocaust: HHAI Interactive Holocaust Museum Re-opening

    HHAI Holocaust museum re-opened on Sunday, May 5. More than two hundred people joined the opening ceremony, tours of the student created interactive exhibits, inspiring Music of the Holocaust program and got a taste of delicious authentic shtetl cuisine.

  • HHAI Teacher Receives a Big Award!

    HHAI is proud to announce that third grade teacher, Justine Skillman is a recipient of this year’s Kohelet Prize for excellence in Jewish education. The Kohelet Prize is awarded each year to six educators who demonstrate extraordinary accomplishment in one of six core elements of progressive Jewish education. Mrs. Skillman was recognized for her entrepreneurial economics curriculum unit in the category of Real World Learning.

    On November 4, at the JCC, HHAI students and teachers spearheaded the STEAMapalooza event with an incredible array of virtual reality coding, Makey Makey , math and green screen activities, enjoyed by a large community!

  • HHAI Stars are 2018 IISL Volleyball Champions!

    Mazel Tov to our wonderful HHAI STARS! They proudly represented our great school and community! In the Championship game yesterday, they beat Greenwood Christian in two sets and completed the season with the record 14 - 0!

    In preparation for the High Holiday season, students at all grade levels had an opportunity to meet a ram today. They saw the ram’s horns from which shofars are made. Special thanks to the Little Eagle Creek Valley Farm for sharing the ram with us!

  • HHAI Annual Family and Friends Day

    More than 300 people attended our annual Family and Friends Day on November 22! PTO under the dynamic leadership of Meytal Ashkenazi and Brent Epstein energized many volunteers. Mrs. Sloan outdid herself with a poignant musical performance entitled "Roots Synthesizing American, Jewish and Israeli Values" depicting our school mission.
