Jewish Values in Action
HHAI strongly believes in performing Mitzvot (good deeds) and giving students the space for both comprehension and implementation. For comprehension, students have regular Chumash and Parsha classes that emphasize textual skills but more significantly ethical scenarios and character attributes to emulate from our collective Patriarchs and Matriarchs.
For implementation, students have big and small Tzedaka (charity) opportunities from daily pennies to Adopt A Family, Popsie's Pantry, Chai Lifeline and more; and intergenerational relationships between the middle and elementary schools as well as with residents at Hooverwood (senior living home).
After School Learning & Support

After School Learning & Support
HHAI maintains a complementary homework club two days a week for students in grades 1-3 and four days a week for students in grades 4-8. These clubs are staffed by classroom teachers and our academic support coordinator provides opportunities for remediation and a quiet focused environment for homework completion with guided practice for students as needed. The computer lab and/or student devices are available as needed and for enrichment opportunities since these devices are stored nightly in school.
Athletics

Athletics
The Hasten Hebrew Academy values the work ethic, teamwork skill set, and lifelong lessons that athletics can bestow onto students.
HHAI is a proud competitor and five-time volleyball Champion in the Indianapolis Independent Sports League (IISL). Grades 4-8 are eligible to compete in basketball, soccer, and girls volleyball. Each sport has an elementary and middle school team that competes against their peers in IISL season play, culminating with a seeded tournament in the spirit of fun and sportsmanship.
8th Grade Trip

8th Grade Trip
From students’ homes to their homeland, 8th graders plan and fund their capstone trip to Israel in their final year at HHAI. The experience allows students to see, smell, taste, hear, touch, and study all aspects of their ancient tie to Israel where the Jewish people have maintained a presence for thousands of years. In the spirit of Ahavat Ha’Aretz (love of the Land), the experience gives students the opportunity to make personal connections to the place that they have studied throughout their entire academic career at HHAI.
