HHAI’s middle school humanities program immerses students in the study of history, literature, geography, and culture, providing a rich, interdisciplinary approach to understanding the human experience. Rooted in inquiry and critical thinking, the program encourages students to analyze the past, connect it to the present, and explore its relevance to their own lives and communities.
In history and social studies, students engage with topics ranging from ancient civilizations to modern global issues. They develop skills in research, analysis, and debate, learning to interpret primary and secondary sources with a discerning eye.
In language arts, students explore diverse literature that fosters empathy and broadens perspectives. Writing workshops help students refine their ability to express ideas clearly and creatively, with a focus on argumentative, narrative, and expository writing.
Our humanities courses integrate technology, project-based learning, and real-world applications, inspiring students to think deeply and communicate effectively. With an emphasis on Jewish values and ethics, students also reflect on moral questions and their roles as active, informed citizens in a global society.
