Learning Through Games - Chess

Grades: K-8

This class is for both beginner and intermediate players interested in learning how to play and improve at chess. This class will encourage children to learn analytical thinking and math skills through chess. And last, but not least, this class will make learning chess enjoyable and fun!

Self Expressions Art Class

Grades: K-5

Days: seven Mondays (Jan 16, 23, 30, Feb 6, 13, 27, Mar 5)

Time: 3:45-4:45

Cost: $85

THIS CLASS STARTS NEXT WEEK! Come learn how to do mosaics with artist, Rivi Shaked. Learn to see art from a different perspective. During this class, students will do fun activities using a variety of different art materials and techniques for self-expression. Acrylics, fun paper, clay, and watercolors and are only some of the many things students use as a new language and outlet for self-expression to make unique art. For example, making a mask from clay, and working on feelings throughout watercolors.

Tuesdays

Drama Kids: The Artists’ Studio

Grades: 1-8

Days: eight Tuesdays (Jan 31, Feb 7, 14, 21, 28, Mar 6, 20, 27) *no class on Mar 13 for PTC

Time: 3:45-5:00

Cost: $164 plus a $25 family registration fee with the Artists’ Studio

For the child who loves to be in character, this class is about the performance aspects of drama. Children will learn how to build a character from the ground up; how does he/she walk, talk, etc. How to memorize lines and monologue work included. *Please see flyer attachment for more details.

Basketball Club for 2^nd and 3^rd Graders

Grades: 2-3

Step by Step

Grades: K-5

Days: 17 Wednesdays (Jan 18-May 16)

THIS CLASS STARTS NEXT WEEK! Emily Cohen from the Step By Step Dance Academy is coming to offer this 17 week Hip Hop/Ballet class for grades K-5. For both girls and boys, this class will teach the classical form of ballet with a flair of hip hop moves. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face. Mad Science

Grades: K-2

Mad Science is back! Mad Science after school program is imaginative learning when school is out! These hands-on science programs are themed around a particular area of science and include such topics as rocketry, magnets, polymers and earth science. Children engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, participate in inquiry-based discussions and take home things that they have made themselves like model rockets, periscopes, scientific putty and more. Mad Science after-school programs offer children a chance to see just how cool science can be!

Thursdays

Tae Kwon Do

Grades: K-8

Days: seven Thursdays (Jan 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 32, Mar 1, 8)

Master Mike is back!! Students will learn traditional Tae Kwon Do. They will learn this martial art while participating in a cultural experience.
